# Ethereum Community Foundation (ECF)

## What we are
The Ethereum Community Foundation (ECF) is a nonprofit organization that builds token-free public infrastructure for the Ethereum ecosystem. We exist specifically to strengthen ETH and benefit its holders.

The Ethereum Foundation (EF) serves the protocol and is neutral on everything, including price. The ECF serves ETH and its holders — we are not neutral on price.

## Core thesis
Ethereum is a shared database for the world's most valuable information, secured by capital. That capital is ETH. ETH price is a security multiplier: when ETH goes up, the database becomes more expensive to attack. We build infrastructure that strengthens the value of ETH.
